W E- 2516- ” B ” Company 51st Battalion AIF – ” I was present when BURKE was hit, badly I believe, near Bullecourt.  We had to leave him,  and some of his comrades told me that he had died and was buried.  BURKE was of medium height, thick set, dark rather than fair  with a broad face.  I saw him hit. He was known as Billy “.
