REPORT ON SOLDIER’S DEATH

Informant – COX, Pte. F. B, 1050, 11th Battalion AIF – ” I knew GARNER, he and I were in the same Platoon and were each wounded on 25th April. I saw him on the beach wounded that day but never since; this was in the morning about 2 hours after landing. He was badly wounded. I think it was in the chest and legs. I have never heard of him since.  He was about 5 foot 6 or 7, dark, thickset, nuggety  fellow and came from Western Australia. He was the only man I knew of that name “.
