On the way a large force of the enemy was met with, and Lance Corporal GEORGE gave great assistance to his Section Leader in handling a difficult situation. His prompt and courageous action prevented considerable casualties, and secured a large number of prisoners. He has on several occasions proved himself to be a very fine and fearless soldier”.
