MILITARY MEDAL
Date of Recommendation : 25 September 1918
For Immediate Award- ” For the period 8th August 1918 to 24th September 1918. This soldier has shown marked gallantry and devotion to duty at all times. He has carried out his duties often under the most trying conditions and heavy shell fire, with exemplary determination and regardless of his personal safety. His work under all conditions has shown him to be a keen and resourceful soldier “.
AUTHOR’S COMMENT
The above Recommendation for Award of MILITARY MEDAL was a joint recommendation with 3610-Gunner, HAMMONDS, Thomas Bishop on 25 September, 1918.
There appears to have been a Clerical Error by the Army which has resulted in the Physical Award of Medals to both Soldiers having never taken place.
It is recommended that a suitably qualified Representative take these matters up with the Australian Army to acknowledge both men accordingly.
