MILITARY MEDAL
Recommendation Details:-
“Trooper GREEN has displayed great bravery on several occasions during the recent operations. He was one of the advance patrol which had forced the ford over the Jordan above Jisk Benat Yarub on 27/09/1918 in the face of heavy machine gun and rifle fire. Trooper VIVEASH was mortally wounded when Trooper GREEN disregarded his own personal safety to carry him to cover. He rendered first aid and continued on his task. At Sasa on the early morning of 30/09/1918 he recconnoitred at great personal risk the enemy position and gave information which led to the final routing of the gunner vanguard. Again on 01/10/1918 in opposition against the enemy vanguard at Duma on the Damascus-Alleppo Road GREEN was in the forefront of the attack throughout, where by his personal bravery and dash, he did much towards the final capture of the enemy rear guard”.

Tragically , Reginald Zebulun GREEN, son of Zebulun and Helena GREEN lost his life during the Second World War.
