STATEMENT FROM SERGEANT T. MATTHEWS- 445- 16th BATTALION ” C ” Company- at Moascar Camp, Ismailia Egypt, June, 1915.- Excerpts follow:- ” Private T. TAYLOR lay out beside HEMMINGS for 2 days. I began bandaging TAYLOR and HEMMINGS continued this work after SERGEANT was shot in shoulder and left. HEMMINGS died of exposure. ”
