REPORT OF SOLDIER’S DEATH
Informant – MENZIES, D, Pte- 4661- ” A ” Company 48th Battalion – ” I saw him killed near the Windmill at Pozieres on August 7th, by a shell. Three of us were together in a shell hole. The third man was wounded; I escaped; LANG was killed. The body was left in the shell hole. He belonged to IIIPlatoon ” A ” Company, and hadn’t long joined us as a Reinforcement “.
