DISTINGUISHED  CONDUCT  MEDAL

Date  of  Recommendation : 31 July 1916.

” At POZIERES on the 25th July 1916, when the infantry on the right were wavering, having had many casualties through shell fire, he put his gun and tripod right over the parapet; ordered the infantry to hold their ground  and opened rapid fire with the gun.  The position was held.  He was soon after badly wounded.  Pte. MORGAN”S prompt action under Machine Gun and shell fire undoubtedly saved a critical situation “.
