Noell, No. 5168, B Coy. 51st Battalion who has been missing since 3/09/1916. I am very pleased to say I have received a post Card from him, he is wounded and a prisoner in Germany. Will you kindly cancel the Cable I asked you to send to Mrs Houston Forrest Street Collie W.A.. I have sent a cable home “.
27/10/1916- Letter from British Red Cross London dated 27/10/1916 to Pte. G. Noell, 4736- ” We have received your letter and are very pleased indeed to hear that your brother has turned up a Prisoner, and is alive and well. We should be very glad if you would let us have the name of his Prison Camp, as given on the card you received , as his name has not appeared on our lists of Prisoners , and we are anxious to send him a parcel of Food and Clothing each week, as we do to all Australian Prisoners. We should, therefore, be glad if you will let us have his address “.

We are having the time of our lives , we were treated splendid at all the large Railway Stations at Berne, Montreaux, the spread that was given us was splendid, it opened our eyes, all the English Ladies in Switzerland were there to meet us , we are most pleased to be out of Germany “.
