“This Officer at Jenin, on 20th September 1918, displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty in the final assault on the town. With his troop he made a mounted charge against masses of the enemy formed on the North side , completely demoralizing them, with the result that their resistance was broken down and their capture completed. Later on in the night , with only a few men, he held a portion of the Nablus Road, and by his courage and audacity, compelled the surrender of many more, repeating this effort several times. His efforts were untiring during the whole night and his performance was a brilliant one  in every way”.
