REPORT OF SOLDIER’S DEATH

Informant – Dedmin, G, 4594, 48th Battalion , ” A ” Company – ” Witness says the Battalion was between Thiepval & Mouquet Farm on 6 August, 1916, and during a charge, a shell exploded in No Man’s Land , blowing soldier to pieces. It would be impossible to bury his body. Witness knew him well, and was in the same Company. Description – Height 5 feet 8 inches. Dark Complexion. Well built “.
