DETAILS OF SOLDIERS DEATH

Informant- 5561- TICE, Pte. W- ” D ” Company – ” He was killed by a shell at Lagnicourt on 26th March.  I saw him killed as he was going  into a dugout in our front line.  He was blown to pieces by the shell. I know nothing as to burial. He belonged to 16th Platoon ” D ” Company “.

Informant- 4753- COLSON, Sgt Major, ” D ” Company – ”  I sent a party up next morning  in charge of Cpl. G.L. VERNON , 4063, ” D ” Company  to bury the parts of his body, at the spot where he was killed “.
