” KILLED IN ACTION – 5/04/1918
I saw him after he was wounded at Hebuterne, near Albert, early in April, 1918. He died on the way to the Dressing Station. I was present when he was buried near Lone House in the Hebuterne Cemetery. A cross was erected by the Battalion “.
