MENTION IN DESPATCHES

This N.C.O is a member of the original Regiment and has served continuously as one of the shoeing personnel. He is thoroughly devoted to his duty, a first class tradesman, reliable and untiring, both in Camp and in the field. The great value of his work was made evident during the Es Salt operations and also at Auja. When casualties occurred amongst the horses he was always prompt and capable in tendering first aid. The fitness of the horses under his charge has been generally remarked upon and in the “led horse” Camp in Wadi Nueiameh in addition to personally attending to four horses, he did excellent work in shoeing and keeping the whole of the horses in a mobile condition”.
