DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL
“Whilst with the advance guard with 10th ALH Regiment (1 Oct) along North East Road from Damascus this NCO did exceptionally good work bringing his guns into action several times under very heavy fire.
At Khan KISSIER though fired at from all directions from houses and vineyards at 40 yards range he worked his guns with splendid effect on retreating enemy, clearing the wad, with enemy pack animals and personnel.
This NCO has had charge of a sub section throughout operations and has behaved splendidly though very short handed”.
